Options Evenings

To ensure that they make their choice optimally, Year 8 pupils and their parents are invited to attend an Options Evening.In those subjects that are part of the options system, teachers will be available to outline the nature of the courses and their expectations too. Visits may be made to as many subjects as pupils and parents choose.

To ensure that they make their choices optimally, Year 9 pupils and their parents are invited to attend an Options Evening.In those subjects that are part of the options system, teachers will be available to outline the nature of the courses and their expectations too. Visits may be made to as many subjects as pupils and parents choose.

Year 9 Options Evening starts at 5.00pm - a presentation in the Senior Hall. Year 11 Options Evening starts at 5.30pm. During the evening subject teachers and careers advisors will be available to offer advice and discuss courses.

All Year 9 pupils will be issued with a GCSE Options Booklet and Options Choice Sheet. The booklet holds useful information on the subjects available to study at GCSE level. This will be followed up by Options Evening which will take place on 9th February.

Detailed advice for parents and students will be available at the Options Evening. During the evening subject teachers and Careers Advisors will be available to offer advice and discuss courses.

All Year 11 pupils will be issued with a GCE Options Booklet and Options Choice Sheet. The booklet holds useful information on the subjects available to study at GCE level. This will be followed up by Options Evening which will take place on 9th February.

Students in Year 9 and Year 11 will be asked to nominate the subjects that they hope to study at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. Subject leaders will offer talks focusing on the nature of their subjects at the GCSE and GCE level. The information on offer will supplement and explain some of what is published in the Options Booklets.
